The XX Commonwealth Games were held in Glasgow, the largest multi-sport event ever to be held in Scotland.
This stamp cover shows off the six special stamps which were released to celebrate the sports played at the Games. There is also a specially designed Glasgow postmark which was cancelled down on the first day of issue.
The design on the background celebrates Olympic and World Champion Christine Ohuruogu; one of Britain's most successful athletes of all time.
Christine specialises in running the 400 metres. She is currently the World and former Olympic Champion for the event. She is a member of the Newham and Essex Beagles Athletics club and was appointed an MBE in the 2009 New Year Honours and conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by the University of London.
In the Moscow World Championships in 2013 she beat Amantle Montsho in a photo finish and set a new 400m British record time of 49.41s. This beats the time set by Kathy Cook in 1984 by 0.02 seconds.
She has set a few more records within her career so far;
Christine was signed up by Virgin Media as an ambassador for its sponsorship of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014, where she took a starring role alongside other top British athletes.
