Celebrating the birth of the Princess in 2015
On 2nd May 2015, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed the birth of their second child, Princess Charlotte in to the world. It’s hard to believe that it has been nearly two years since the nation rejoiced in the arrival of the Princess, and now, as her second birthday approaches we celebrate with this gold plated commemorative coin that was struck on the day of her birth.
Struck to the same diameter as a UK £5 Coin and plated in pure 24-carat gold, The Princess Charlotte Birth Commemorative Medal has a strict worldwide edition limit of just 4,950. The medal is displayed in a black presentation case and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Featuring a brand new design, the reverse has been designed with the Princess Charlotte’s name surrounded by floral emblems with an emerald inserted to showcase the stone for the month of May when the Princess was born.
The obverse incorporates the four national flowers of the United Kingdom each represented inside a shield, along with the wording 'Magnae Britanniae’ - meaning 'Great Britain’ in Latin.
